Ten Things to Do When Moving to Amherst, NH (from our
1, Visit the library and get a library card (14 Main
Street). Go into the village. Find Moultons Market, walk
1/2 block west.
2. Buy a generator. (seriously, if your house didn't come
with one, buy one NOW, before you need it)
3. Have breakfast at one of the cafe's on the Milford
Oval. (Downtown Milford)
4. Get your Car Tags and Dog license at Town Hall. (On the
Amherst Green, Nancy Demers, town clerk, on your right as
you come in the door)
5. Enroll your children in school. (The Old Brick
Schoolhouse on the Amherst Green holds the administrative
6. Find the Town Dump (Nancy will give you a sticker with
your car tags). Dump is on Rte 101 - see website
7. Come to the village green for Trick or Treat night on
Halloween (even if you have no children)
8 Attend the 4th of July Town celebration and visit the
